Founded
in
1948, the Clearwater Sail Power Squadron is a non-profit, educational
organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by
teaching
free-instruction safe boating classes to the public. In addition,
our
members can participate in advanced courses in seamanship, navigation,
cruise
planning and other activities.
Our members are part of a boating family comprised of 60,000 members in
450
squadrons of the United States Power Squadrons® -- America's
largest non-profit boating
organization. As part of its effort to promote safe boating, the
Squadron
provides a number of courses and workshops open to the public (see
links to the
left). Events are hosted at our state-of-the-art headquarters in
downtown Clearwater by
volunteers with extensive
qualifications and training. The Squadron prepares its members to
travel the
waters of both Tampa Bay and the world beyond.
As a
member, you will surely enjoy our camaraderie and develop enduring
friendships through social activities such as cruises, floatilla
gatherings,
parades, dinner dances and more! We encourage individuals,
couples, and
families to join – whether power or sail!
Safe
boating begins with you! Please consider registering for our
upcoming Boat
Smart or Chart Smart course.
